Front Room Update

We have been really busy getting the studio together. We are planning on doing our Grand Opening in June. Once we have the exact date set-up, I will let everyone know. If you are not already a client or vendor, please feel free to email me and I will include you on our list. (Everyone is welcome)

I am in the middle of redoing our portraits right now. We have some new really exciting stuff coming. We are hoping to change the way you think about portraits.

Also, Front Room has been receiving a lot of calls from coordinators. One that I wanted to spotlight is Monica Gill of the White Box of Wedding Design. She is amazingly sweet and genuine. (I would have her babysit my kids in a second, although I don't know if she we like me offering her up for that...)

She also has a great BLOG. A lot of good information that she freely shares. I cannot say enough about her. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call or drop by her beautiful office.

Veil Magazine

The new Veil Magazine is coming out and it looks amazing. It was released at the Bridal show on Sunday. You might notice that the cover photo is a picture of David from Dynamic Events that I photographed a couple of months back.

And from the fashion section in the magazine that we shot, this was one of my favorite images. The dress is from Premiere Couture.

Tuesday Announcements

So, we are doing a lot around the studio lately. I just ordered 7 canvas prints to hang in the studio. Ranging from 16x20 to 40x60. We are hoping to have the new gallery up soon and get going on our opening party... I promise, as soon as we confirm a date, I will let you know.

I just realized that we have had our Blog up and running for one year. I also just looked at our stats and we had over 31,000 people view our Blog last year. Wow that is a lot of people, that is about 85 people a day.

So I am asking you what you would want to see? Do you want more news about us, photography tips, or photos?

We are leaving for Vegas in a week and a half. So the studio will be shut down from the 14th-19th. I will be checking email and trying to get back to you.

And for the announcements.
First, I photographed a beautiful child this morning that is undergoing chemotherapy. Her prognosis is not great, but she is an amazing person with great parents. Due to the beauty of their family, I am with holding photos from the Blog. But that does lead me to my next point. In honor of this great child, I am offering free portraits to any newborn. If you, a friend, or anyone that you know has a child less then 14days old at the time of the shoot, I will photograph them for free. (I will not stop you from making a donation to her Charity.)

And I wanted to ask you about offering a donated Wedding. I am willing to donate my services to a couple getting married, if they will, within their budget, make a donation to either this child's charity or the Wisconsin MS Society. I would choose a list of finalists and have you vote on them. I am only going to offer one wedding up, but first I want to get your feedback first.

Front Room Update

We have two great shows coming up.

We will be at the Milwaukees Magnificent Bride show on March 2nd, at the Pfister Hotel. This is going to be a really amazing event; nothing what you would expect from a wedding show.

We still have a couple of free tickets left. If you are interested, please email us info@frphoto.com, and I can send them out to you.

I recently got this from one of our brides, just to tell you a little about this show:

Neil,
Thank you, Risha and Kate for your corroboration to get us tickets to the Bridal Show. I am so excited... I really like this "bride" thing! They are simply the most beautiful tickets I have ever received..

Thank you ALL again!

Cheers,
See you soon.
Stephanie

Also, we are helping to start a great group in Madison. We will have a great group of professionals that will meet every other month for brides to come see us. This is not a normal show that is full of people and vendors trying to sell you everything. Instead we will be there to answer all of your weddig questions and talk. More of a social cocktail hour.

Our fist show will be Wednesday March 12, from 5:30-8:30pm at the Madison Sheraton Hotel. Please feel free to call with any questions.

I hope to see you soon at one of these shows.

WI Primaries

Today is election day. Please go out and vote. I don't care for whom, but I fell that voting is so important for the people to get their voice out. Maybe I am still a bit of a dreamer, but I do believe that through our vote our voice is heard.
I am going to vote soon and taking my girls with me to help teach them the importance of being politically active.
As an interesting side note, did you know that the we have elected 38 of 43 presidents that have blue eyes?
Michael Medved wrote an article about our history of electing blue eyed presidents that was pretty cool: Blue Eyes

Noon update:
after our voting

and a client of mine told me about this cool website to help you find which candidate most aligns with your beliefs: GlassBooth

New Galleries & more

With the help of Calfa and Kristin, we have been adding new images to the gallery. Please take a look at Neil and Eron's galleries and tell me what you think. We are adding new photos and I would love to hear what you love, what it might be missing, and anything you see that doesn't fit.

I should have Calfa's updated in the by Monday. With a lot more to come soon.

Also, we should be getting our iphones today. We kinda got them by accident. AT&T offered us a really good deal to switch and I couldn't say "no". So, I soon will be able to add to the blog via my iphone.

Also, we are getting prepared to do our grand opening at our new space. We are thinking April or early May, but I will keep you up to date as we get details together.

We are not sure if we should do it on a Thursday, Friday, or maybe a Saturday. Thoughts.

We will also be at Milwaukee's Magnificent Bride at the Pfister March 2, 2008. I have tickets available and if you would like to come for free, please email us.

Also, I will be presenting at a workshop for photographers February 17th. If you might be interested in attending, please send me an email. The cost is only $25 and should be a lot of fun.

I am going to leave you this weekend with two Experience prints that we recently did, enjoy:

Beautiful Monday

I was up early today, getting my kids ready for school, when Izzy noticed that the sky was pink. She noticed a great sunrise this morning. We also sat and looking at the beautiful Monday sky. With pink clouds and a soft blue background, I knew that this week was going to be good.

Sometimes in life there are little things that make the difference. Be it a smile or a hug. We have tried to transfer this to all that we do. I hope that we can always wow you with great advice or amazing photos.

Also,

we are going to be Vegas March 14-19. I am possibly planning on doing some shooting while there. If you have an itch go to some place warm, send me an email. I am looking for some real couples or brides to photograph there. I do not want models but real people. I believe that we specialize in bring out real emotions and personality; therefore I am looking for some dynamic people to photograph for free while there.

Annoncement

Yesterday, I had a great meeting with other vendors in the Madison area about creating a network of professionals to help educate brides. So we want to do something different that just offer a wedding show. We are looking at meeting every other month and offer seminars for brides to learn the ins and outs of weddings. This way you can save time and meet vendors, ask questions and not spend your whole life trying to learn how to plan your wedding. We will have seminars and Q&A for you also.

Our first show will be March 12, look for more info soon.

Front Room Update

Wow, this has been an intense year. It has been filler with amazing clients, a new studio, Eron has a great daughter (Grace), and Calfa is engaged. We are caught up on Holiday orders, but we have been very busy. We are trying really hard to get albums completed and all of our experience prints done.

I am sorry that I haven't been posting, but I am back and will put stuff online again.

Look for some great website updates in the next couple of weeks. We also have some big announcements coming soon. I will be telling you about two of them in January.

Smiles,

Neil
